bin the holding corps and bump people back to their schools when dropping player corps.
real communities like CAS exist and the no turning back thing is really off putting to people in them. they have to make alts to try out the player corp life.

it's so much better when we train for 8m to make our hilarously named solo corp with all our alts in it and a 0% tax rate.
apart from easier wallet management i might as well be in the scope.

my general perception of null is that the politics are horrible, people tell you what to do and if a CTA goes out then you have to drop IRL **** to play a feckin videogame.
and that's probably either a complete misconception or a stereotype of a corp/alliance that just plain sucks but i don't think i'm alone in this.

hmm, maybe there's a devilishly subtle propaganda campaign to convince everyone that null sec sucks so that they don't get more of that sort of player.

pubbie fleets though. there are decent, noob friendly ones, a list went up on GD a while ago. i've been out with bomber's bar a few times now and I LOVE IT. you get to do bomb runs, hot drops and all that cool stuff. ***** on some killmails etc.
but yeah you just need an FC who can tolerate your complete lack of ability and gets a kick out of doing it.

it doesn't help to have players feel like they have to be in an NPC corp though. if they're carebearing in an NPC corp they'll just join a carebear corp and have no one to show them other aspects of the game.
at least in an NPC corp they are free to try out all manner of gameplay styles without their individual behaviour impacting the group as a whole which is really the value of them.

so if NPC corps and their dec shield are so overpowered, how come the tax haven status and corporate management of wallets/bookmarks etc. are desirable enough for me to form my own holding corp?
i mean, here i am, the desire of every eve-o forum fantisist, the player who can be attacked like a corp. yet no war has been declared on me yet. i even post on my main. all the things newbs are a feared of.
of course due dilligence will show that i fly stealthies a lot and have some PvP experience. I might be a 'problem'

(probably not though, i don't accept 'duels') You'd be surprised at the infrequency with which one man corps get decced. Further, unless you actually have any assets, even should you get decced, you can drop and reform, and chuckle. That's why. Now stop trying to obfuscate the discussion, please.
I'm just trying to help newbies out of their comfort zone.
there's more to eve than griefing noobs and camping low/high gates. you don't want to get stuck doing that for years you'll be sad.

yeah, eve PvE is so dull and monotonous I preferred mining for my first year. i'm really glad they lowered the bar for making decent ISK in a more interesting fashion with odyssey.
